If the issue is indeed occurring based solely on the age of the thread as opposed to posting activity within the thread, I'll see if the functionality cannot be improved upon or replaced with a different feature such as a user end-configured "Important Threads" plugin.

I surprisingly have not made any posts in the Unofficial Patch thread myself to verify, although the navigation does seem to navigate properly to the most recent post made after my last in the Planet Vampire Jukebox thread for instance.
