I think you might know. We did meet before on ModDB, but not in person. I posted this reply on your Unofficial Patch thread, www.moddb.com/mods/vtmb-unofficial-patch/downloads/bloodlines-unofficial-patch-115, specifically replying to user by the name Blauz, reacting to someone named SS-Panzerkommandant. This was said in the latter user's defense. Here is the post:
It's not like the Allies were such good guys either... Just watch the documentary Hellstorm. Look up Eisenhower death camps, Churchill-endorsed phosphorus bombings of Dresden and other German cities full of civilians who had *nothing* to do with war, and also what Red Army did in Berlin in 1945 (this is nightmarish beyond any words). Even if such grisly atrocities were the supposed 'just retribution', these acts demonstrate how little difference there was between the conflicting 'sides'.
History is written by victors. Although, the only victors in any war are obviously bankers and politicians, veritable monstrous manipulators, not unlike Cainites.
War is ugly, there's a reason why it's called a 'war theatre' - because sister nations are always manipulated into unwittingly and mercilessly slaying each other while some reap the profits. I'm not defending any side in any war, just commenting on the general ignorance of the populace on this matter, and the resulting tragedy which could easily be avoided by not playing along.
This post is no longer on the comment section. It was deleted by you twice. I'm sure you remember it. And hence, this is why I wasn't surprised by your reaction at all. Granted, you had your reasons to do it, I'm sure such views are not tolerated in Germany to this day. But I knew you were all too eager to silence me. Just as you are so eager to drive me out of here. (Don't worry, I might just do so in a few moments).
But me knowing how much you dislike me (and anyone sharing my views, for that matter), has nothing to do with my alias, with me being a stranger to you or not... It's irrelevant. You don't call a person you like a lunatic. It's that simple.
Thank you very much for your patches and your hard work, but it doesn't give you any right to impose your ego on me under veneer of objectivity. You just saw an opportunity, and you went for it. But I see how this opportunity became more like a bait for your standing with this community.

This is why I said before that you were the one attacking. Sorry to say it, but that crazy theory is lunacy - just like flat earthers - it has nothing to do with you.
Please, resolve your issues with Wesp in PRIVATE, not here, and let's focus on the thread - other different discussions we may have on other spaces.
I will unfortunately have no choice but to lock this thread if we cannot remain on-topic. If you are uncertain as to whether or not your posts relate to the topic being discussed by the thread, do not hesitate to create a new thread. Furthermore, I want to emphasize that similarly to the rules of the Planet Vampire Discord, personal attacks and the creation of any posts intentionally disrespectful or otherwise intended to bait other members of the forums will not be tolerated. Strive to reach a mutual understanding with others on these forums if possible, and if that is not possible, simply ignore them.
Ah geez, I never thought that people would start arguing over crazy flat earth stuff on this site. Here, let's be constructive and get back to hating Nu World of Darkness.
I'll admit that I haven't played tabletop VTM yet, but recently I have been playing Werewolf with some friends [I'm pretty new to tabletop RPGs in general]. We read both W5 and W20 as we were making our characters, and what stuck out the most to us was the stark difference in quality between W5's art and W20's art. Especially with the tribe illustrations!
The W20 tribes were represented by art that was dripping with character and perfectly summed up what the tribe was all about.
In contrast, W5 just slapped together random images of lame-ass characters with no real aesthetic cohesion.
One thing I liked 100% about the 5th editions is Hunter. Before it was humans with superpowers, like some cheap mages. Now it's humans and nothing else. A simpler and yet more effective approach. And the art? Sublime.
If only they stuck to the same quality in the other settings....

Look for the first edition of the Hunters book. And ignore the Osiris crap, obviously.

WW of old had way more quality art across the board. Nowadays they cheapened out on it. The art of the Samedi vampires in particular always looked extremely good.
ah... vtm v5... after extensive reading of v20 i can conclude one thing; v5's formatting is not very great! my biggest example of this was trying to find the rules for weaponry as everyone i know is a combat fiend ... i thought, hey, v20 had some great formatting, putting the guns, weapons, and armor, etc etc right after the section on combat. surely v5, a modern game with even MORE insight could somehow improve upon it right??
right??
...theyre 150 pages apart from the standard combat rules, being included in the advanced combat section.
tbh thats not even my main gripe with v5 though, i've been trying to describe the general lack of 'style' i feel the game has been having until someone said that all the gothic-punk is gone and now it's a boring "dark modern." it just seems so... corporate now? i'd say it's more like that in the "v5 inspired" official material though, a lot of the stuff in the core rulebook still retains some interesting style and has SOME nice art. like posters above said it's different and some aint bad but some of it still looks nice at least
i'd still play v5 if people weren't up for the mechanical clusterfuck that v20 can be but it still just... idk... it feels like its been consumed by corporate entropy, all things must be dumbed down and simplified and made far more boring than before
for all the shit im giving it though a lot of the ideas are pretty cool to me, i like the concept of loresheets & predator types, sea of time would help my group out, character creation in general seems a lot easier to explain due to the whole two-pager reference & more detailed explanation of what skills you should have gotten as a human... it sure would've helped me better explain to my munchkin player that if his character "worked at a casino" he should maybe have resources and finance, not 5 brawl, 5 firearms, and 5 in generation w/ 3 dots in celerity!
this is the v5 hate thread though so uhh to finalize my hate post i dont like any of what was done to clan giovanni becoming clan hecata (i DO like the giovanni bloodlines those are interesting) and i HAAATE HAAAATE what they did to disciplines even though some like viscissitude had some.... interesting... implications if a PC had them in v20....
LAST OF THE UNLIVING RIVETHEADS IRL Malkavian Cainite coming out of torpor please be patient
