I've never been much fond of any military stuff, but yes... those German uniforms are work of pure art, there's no other way around it! Whoever designed those outfits was nothing short of genuis.
The moon landing... Most probably fictional, although I get your point
So you know about the Moon Vibrating because it is apparently hollow. Rang like a bell
Scientist can explain things better with the Moon not existing... That is what they say!
Absolutely! The scientists who genuinely tried to solve the mystery of the Moon and were honest with their calculations, inevitably arrived to the conclusion that the mass of the Moon is much less than the figure claimed by the orthodox astronomy/astrophysics. Here's one such very confident scientist publicly addressing this fact just a short while before the first 'moon landing'. He theorizes that the Moon is actually a plasma of sorts, not a solid object. He also references the tides, saying they are much higher compared to the Moon's actual mass. The Moon may not have any impact on the earthly waters at all, as the tides do not occur in smaller, isolated bodies of water such as lakes or even big puddles - and they should have been influenced by the Moon as well, of course. It also severely undermines the conventional gravitational theory.
Yes, the lunar librations are another strong evidence that the Moon may well be a hollow object, or even a lens-like 'luminary'. Another reason why the calculations just don't add up is because... well, the modern globular cosmology is bunk - they say that the Moon is exactly 400 times smaller than the Sun but also 400 times closer to Earth, hence making the total solar eclipse phenomenon possible here, due to both disks appearing to be the same size. If we assume that all these objects - the Earth, the Moon, the Sun - are spheres or spheroids floating in more or less freeform cosmic space, isn't it one heck of a coincidence to have them all aligned so well that we could see the total eclipse? Smells fishy to me.
The ancient cosmology says that the Earth is a flat, enclosed outstretched plane, and indeed there's ample evidence that this is truly the case. It's another big topic, but what's important here is that once you realize this world may have been designed by some entity, the Sun and the Moon being of the same size starts to make much more sense...
Even more than that, the Moon may have been artificially added into this world at a later time by certain malevolent entities. If the Moon is hollow, which very well may be the case, it may be there to hide something. One school of thought even suggests that this object may be a device or a portal of sorts acting as a 'reincarnation trap' - recycling our souls after our death back onto the Earth, wiping all the memory of our previous lives here in the process. The white light that people see after death may be this Moon Matrix... It's a very bold proposition, but certainly fascinating and worth consideration if you have a sufficiently open mind on the matter. www.trickedbythelight.com/tbtl/moon.shtml
The Moon is a mysterious mistress who walks the night with demons of dread...
We had a conversation about VtM, another subject popped up and we exchanged some opinions with another member. Granted, it's off-topic, but such things do happen on the forums from time to time. I used to be a moderator, so I know it. This I agree with. However, it's not an excuse to be instantly so touchy about what I said and calling me names. If you've got a personal problem with my worldview, it's not anyone's fault. I have the right to express my views even if you would consider me a kook, a cockroach or the Devil himself. I'm not heartbroken, and I'm most definitely not sorry.
If you want to tell me how retarded and messed up in my head I am, by all means - you're welcome to use Personal Messages for that.
VtM has its roots in biblical lore as well, and I even quoted Bloodlines in my latest post. So Flat Earth, and dimensional cosmology for that matter, is not that far away of a topic. If it really offends you so much, just pretend I'm talking about a fictional universe. And let us get back to discussing V5. Please.
So convenient that I mentioned it, isn't it. And without resorting to ad hominem attacks. I know you don't like me, wesp. I know. It's alright. I am not here to burst your bubble. Acting the way you did just now is not good for your reputation.
Anyway... The good thing about V5 may be that they removed certain clans like Children of Osiris, Salubri and such. While the reasons for their existence in old VtM were intricate, I find that the creators probably went too far deep, ending up with vampire healers, vampires basking in the sun... The world of darkness should have its paradoxes, of course. But yes, those clans always seemed out of place to me, despite the interesting justifications.
Oh wait, they didn't remove Salubri? But the Obeah discipline is gone, that pretty much means they lost their identity...
Nah, I really don't think it's you, but the derailing of the topic. If you 2 have beef, it didn't show by that comment - Wesp was blunt, but not disrespectful. You, on the other hand, are being snarky and passive aggressive. And I'm not not being disrespectful, just blunt.
The thing about the weird Clans is because of the whole mess they made trying to give "sparkle" to some books. -Salubri were made trying to give Tremere something more than "they manipulate blood" (now they are undead wizards, that killed a beloved Antideluvian and his Children, and SOMEHOW they are on the good side of The Powers That Be? Yeah, right...) in the Player's Handbook (later expanded in other books). -Children of Osiris were made to say "hey, not all vampires are irredeemable monsters, look at these guys!" in the Hunters first book (and, also, expanded later) Both Clans can eat a bag of dicks and disappear.
oldWoD had it's flaws, but V5 surely does takes the cake!
Excuse me - am I missing something, or was it me who just veiled their personal feelings with pointing out a minor offense of forum rules that has not even been acknowledged by administrators as of yet?
...Yeah, I'd take Salubri and Osiris children over anything that V5 has to offer. The Salubri at least had this faint vision of Golconda mixed with the drama of doing good for achieving personal gain... Children of Osiris were involved in Kemintiri's story, which I find very fascinating. So they all had at least some reasons for their existence.
Honestly? Let's focus on this topic. We can always open another thread.
Nah, with good writers you can even turn shit into appealing manure! For me, it's not that Salubri and Osiris had anything interesting, they just had good writers justifying bad writers inserts.
Perhaps so. I certainly think it's the writing that allowed them to branch into Werewolf, Mage, Changeling and so on, all following more or less the same patterns. Which would've been much more visible if they hadn't managed to make these settings unique with the plot details, the characters and intrigues.
Agree. They had amazing writers and ideas (and knew what to adapt). Too bad they also had really bad ones, leading to (weird is a compliment) thing - I'm talking about you, all Traditions systems based on Hermetic traditions because noone bother to think Ars Magicka could only apply to the Hermetic guys!
I loved whatever interesting Mage had to offer, certainly too much Hermetic stuff in there for my liking as well, but at least they tried... A shame there were no spin-off movies or videogames on MtA, of course that would be a tad bit more difficult to adapt to the screen (or a monitor, lol) than VtM, but still. I suspect The Elder Scrolls borrowed some MtA concepts for their sorta-kinda freeform Spellmaker system.
Recomend reading Dark Ages: Mage (& Grimoire), Dark Ages: Devil's Due (Circle of Red, in the Appendix), and the V20 Black Hand book (Idran, in Chapter four).
Man, you could be even so horrific to look at that people could panic (not as seeing a Werewolf, but close) if you have the right idea. Don't like V5...
I'll keep those in mind, thanks. ...Actually, I know of one definite cultural reference - I happened to watch The Crow after being already familiar with MtA, and was very surprised to see the Sphere symbols they put in the form of graffiti on various walls. Apparently someone involved in the movie was a big fan of the setting.
Edit: oh yes, the sanitized Nosferatu... have they even seen the eponymous movies?
