Really happy to find an oldschool forum about VTM about all things so might as well christen the first thread on Blooslines Two with a discussion about it. What are some things you're looking forward to? Hope they add? What are you, if anything, concerned about? Personally really hoping they are able to capture that top tier aesthetic Bloodlines 1 had, the grimy dark punk/goth urban vibe which to this day I don't think has been matched. Though pretty concerned about the choice to start off as an elder and the actual impact of dialogue just from what we've seen from the trailers.
This is probably the only thing Bloodlines 2 has in common with the original game.
From my part, everytime I see new info about B2, I sorely realize it's not a game for me (the old fans).
I see no ties with original Bloodlines. Hope it will be a good game though.
I'm not sold on it. I will not be pre-ordering it by far. I might buy it at half price. That is review dependant.
Only game I ever Pre-ordered was CP2077 and while other were moaning about it. I had a whale of a time. Completed all 7 endings etc. I did look at modding but it was in it's infancy back then and never looked since. I believe they have a kinda SDK now.
I should play Phantom Liberty soon. Another thing I pre-ordered.

Phantom Liberty is great and overall to me CP2077 had a lot of Bloodlines feeling. I just recently learned that there are huge unused areas hidden in the game, but modding doesn't seem up to date at the moment to do the things we did to restore Bloodlines content. Maybe this will become better once CDPR stops patching it which regularily breaks the fan-made modding tools!

They seem to let the community fix things then use it as a base to fix stuff, hah.
The last area where fixer Dakota is has some unused area in remote regions. A lot of clipping through the building but was good to see.
This was like xmas 2020 I played it until Feb 21. All I did.
My first playthrough I completed half naked haha as a Tech Kid
2nd playthorugh in legendary maxxed gear Tech Kid with skippy chattin shit haha. I have Idea's eventually for that game but..
This lass Mission was cool and yeah , yeah I know she is a Transgender Toon. Loved driving that vehicle. Easy stuff!
In all honesty, I don't mind having the protagonist be an elder vamp this time. There's an actual explanation for why you're able to level up your skills and disciplines in a short amount of time, as opposed to the first game where your Mary Sue fledgling could just max out multiple disciplines and become a one-man army while they're still fresh off the boat.
However, there are still many areas that I'm not exactly optimistic about. Having the protag be voiced isn't really a bad thing on it's own, but I worry that it could severely limit roleplaying. From what I saw and heard from the recent Narrative and RPG Stream video, Phyre will have a preset personality and backstory. Granted, it seems like they're gonna try and make Phyre ambiguous enough that players can insert themselves into the character [kinda like JC Denton], so I do hope they can get that right. Some of the ideas mentioned in the video sound really interesting [such as how different outfits will result in different reactions from NPCs], but it's not guaranteed that those ideas will be executed well.
All in all, I'm cautiously optimistic. Maybe it'll turn out well, maybe it won't. I'll be pleasantly surprised if it's a gem, but I won't be badly shaken and sobbing if it sucks. Either way, I'll let time take care of the rest.
I also think the combat looks much better in the most recent trailer, though only unarmed combat has been shown. Seriously, what happened to the melee weapons and guns? I swear to God, I'll be so fucking pissed if they pull a Mirrors Edge Catalyst and choose to remove guns entirely from the game. I hope the reason why they're not shown is just because they're refining them in the background. Those gun animations from the old shitty IGN gameplay demo looked pretty janky, so I wouldn't blame them for wanting to spend some time reworking them.
I should have specify I am *cautiously* optimistic, like Sparky said.
I also hope this will be at least a good game but mostly for their own sake (I wouldn't be able to play it until I'll have good hardware to run it in the first place )
