When I was working on War games, the main source of assest I found was gamebanana
Sadly, the 70% of the mdl won't compile in the converssor. And 50% of the others, crashed the maps. If you want to add custom assets, and don't compile or cant show the bullets impact, I used a work around:
1- put the asset in the map like a "not solid" (this way, you avoid some vertex positions that make error) 2- in the place where the mdl is, place a transparent polygon. (solid), this way you can simule collision with the object, and the bullets impact had a place to go.
