Placing Candle Flames
Question Submitted By: RavingWolve
How do I place the flames on the chandeliers right, so that they are on top of the candles? I don't know how to do this because the chandeliers are not skinned in the editor.
Answer Category: Mapping / Embrace
Unfortunately, the answer to your question is that there is no easy way... Here's a direct quote from the NMB discussing the subject:

... I do have one more related question. Since torches, candelabra (sp?), etc. all show up as only big red blocks in the cam view (I'm assuming that's what's supposed to happen and I'm not doing something wrong, if I am let me know) is there an easier way to get flames placed on flame producing sources easier than guessing, then launching the map, seeing how close you got then going back into Embrace and moving again. Especially with the candelabra it is frustrating since there are alot of little flames and stuff on there it would be nice to have some reference within Embrace that would help with placing the flames.

Unfortunately no...we had the exact same problem (and it wasn't fun lining up the candle flames on the altar in the convent, trust me). We did eventually make a .map with each of the candlelabras and torches, etc having the flames already lined up. That way we could open that, copy, and paste it into our own map.
It only takes a couple times back and forth to get it right for the complicated ones.

However, I'm sure that other mappers have already done the hard work, and some may have posted prefabs... or you can open one of the original game maps and copy and paste from there.
