The heavy focus on combat instead of social is not only weird for me, but we DO have recent examples of it making a game forgettable: Werewolf.
"But Monjh, that game has mostly positive reviews! It's not forgettable, people enjoy it!" - yeah, and how many people are still talking about it? Even Swansong, with it's many critics, is STILL being talked. The setting is not focused on combat, it is MUCH more social. I can agree that sometimes a story can greatly gain from combat and violence, but if you forget the horrors and the bleak atmosphere, sorry to say that you risk of turning it into "Supah Powah in Gothic Leather!", and it will be just another power fantasy, not a memorable setting.
And I think that would be a worst fate for this game: to be forgotten, and not even criticized, after a few months.
