I'm trying to add exits to the existing London/NY hubs and I can't make them work.
Answer Category: Mapping / Embrace
I submitted this question because it seems to be the one that I hear most often - mappers are trying to modify the existing hubs by making some of the "fake" doors you see into real click exits, only after the LONG compile, they find that it does not work, and usually they see a HOM where their exit is supposed to be.
The problem here is the layers. To make a long story short, when you load the empty hub, the only entities that will show up are the ones in the static layer.
To fix this problem, go back to your modified hub, select any template brushes, objects, etc. (anything except just plain old brushes) that you may have added, then pick "move to static layer" from the selection menu. Then, go to the view, layers menu and make sure that the checkboxes beside any layer names are checked off (except show static). If you can still see your template brushes, etc. in the 2D view, then you're in business. Export your hub, making sure that "export static objects" is checked.
9 times out of 10, this will solve problems with adding to the existing hubs.
